Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Visalia Residents Directory. By using the reference, you agree to these conditions. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

1. What This Reference Is

Visalia Residents Directory is a privately operated reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections related to Visalia, Tulare County, and California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the City, County, State, Superior Court, library, or another custodian.

2. Rules for Lawful Use

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or anything reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or unauthorized access.
  • Make a decision covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale.
  • Interfere with site operation, security, or availability.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Neither the text here nor a result returned by a linked search service is a consumer report. None may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Links and Services

County, City, State, court, library, archive, USPS, and third-party portals have separate terms, prices, availability, and data practices. Sponsored search tools are operated by outside companies. Visalia Residents Directory does not control or guarantee those services.

5. No Promises About Results

The reference is provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, fact, link, portal, coverage year, fee, or search result is accurate, complete, current, or available at any particular time. Confirm important information with the custodian office.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from the reference or a linked resource, including an action taken from a record found through it.

7. Your Responsibility

You agree to defend and hold harmless the operators from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arises from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Republishing a full page or copying the content systematically is not permitted.

9. Changes to These Terms

New terms may be posted in place of this version. Continued use after a revision is published means that the revised terms are accepted.

10. Access May End

Access may be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses the reference, or threatens its operation. This may happen without advance notice.

11. California Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law, without applying conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 et seq., governs requests to the relevant public agency for existing records; it does not require this private reference to create, certify, or disclose a government record. California’s Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act appear in Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq. and may apply to covered businesses as provided by law.

12. If a Term Fails

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
